Making Places: Youth Attachment towards Rice Field Activities in Creating a Sense of Place in Malaysia’s Homestays

Homestay programme is getting popular among tourists and plays an important role to promote local cultural economy. a normal form of community-based tourism that offers communities experience lifestyle heritage culture. One the interesting culture paddy field activities which are currently sidelined due urbanisation. This has resulted villagers especially youth lose their attachment values on this activity. paper aims explore in rural areas homestay programmes. study also identifies type related suitable for as well daily lives. Data was gathered using observation semi-structured interview from three different homestays Kedah, Malaysia Kg. Pantai Jamai, Jeruju D’Belimbing. Finding shows there were several attached get involved including within nature-based environment setting man-made settings.
